Well I do have all the consoles. But for me the deciding factor wasn't just a few games. Some series are PS3 exclusive (Final Fantasy, Disgaea, Romance of the Three Kingdoms), and some of my favorite designers work for Sony (like Fumito Ueda, Naughty Dog Studios) Add to that Sony's new approach of aggressively pursuing to publish original and interesting indie games (Little Big Planet is an example of this) it's really a no brainer.

There are plenty of reasons to make you buy a PS3 or prefer it over other consoles. But I guess this is not the topic for it.

It's not the non mainstreamness of it. It's rather... The Romance of the Three Kingdoms series was always based more on text than graphics. The latest game in the series for instance can easily work on a Pentium I. The game they did 1 year ago can work on a 386.

I'm just a sucker for that kind of hardcore strategy game. It's also a unique mixture of RPG and strategy. It's just that people expect you to buy something flashy done with Unreal 3 engine. Not text based game with chinese voice overs and a few 2d images.
