Worrying is about as effective as chewing gum to solve algebra
I used to. Some years ago I had.. Three main armies, and a few smaller ones.
Major army was Imperial Guard, three full platoons of troops, A tank platoon including a baneblade in my later years.
Space Wolves, smaller than IG, but still stupidly over the top (I never got to play a game with any army at full capacity
). Mostly troops, with two land raiders and a small squad of land speeders, a 'command' Rhino for Ragnar Blackmane and his assorted wolf units :B
And a much smaller Blood Angels group, which focused heavily on rapid deployment and close combat, assault terminators, and pistols/chainswords. Quite a large bike group, too. They were my army of choice against Orks >.>
I also had a small group of Necrons and Chaos marines---

Hehe, I wasn't expecting much from the engine, to be honest. Especially not with the speed that these expansions are turned out (Hey, it means they're getting good at PC game unit balancing, which is nice).
I wouldn't be surprised if there is an engine update, when an appropriate engine comes along, but until then, I see them sticking with this one, possibly adding some more shine here and there.---

Space Marines. I painted them to be an Ultramarines chapter because that's what they looked like on the box, lol. Don't play so much anymore. It's my dream to get an army with max troop selection and each troop selection be a scout squad in which everybody has sniper rifles. I don't have the money, however.02.18.08 3:22 am-

Yeah, it is pretty expensive... And not only that, but even with the Canadian dollar and American dollar being nearly equal, the cost of the units in America is so much lower than in Canada... Even if you pay outrageous shipping costs, it's still cheaper to ship from the USA. Kind of sad, really, and the same thing is true for just about everything sold both in Canada and the USA; makes it seem like they never even realized how close our dollars are now.
And, I want to try the snipers thing so badly... Before the game starts, set up everybody 36 inches away to avoid the fairly common 24 inch range, then on the first turn snipe out every squad leader, kill every heavy weapons trooper, and destroy every vehicle all in one turn.02.19.08 4:11 am-

i played a few years ago, played SM's
I liked the painting side of things alot, so i never really had a set chapter, made up a bunch of my own
but i stopped playing/ collecting
cause
at that time i wasn't driving, and didn't have a job, to pay for the very expensive figs
but im getting interested in it again
i might pick it up again if i get some spare money02.19.08 3:30 am -

Not worth it. When anything can be ret-conned at the drop of a hat, and the costs are arbitrary, and the players are a mixture of arrogant, wealthy and rare (Not just half-baked)... what is there to play?
Yes, I am annoyed by the lack of Squats (Dwarves) in a universe with copious variations of Eldar (Elves). The recent rework on the mechanics hasn't done anything for me either.
I picked up figures at a garage sale, but I've never really been able to buy them new.02.21.08 7:56 pm -

As an avid fan of both the RTS and the tabletop versions of WH40k, I can say, after 5 or so years of neglecting the models, I got Dawn of War, soon sunk me right back into the whole thing once again.

has a custom title.
Orks, all the way. I started with Marines (Didn't everyone?) but I just love the Ork playstyle - lots of Orks and basically overwhelming your opponent. I kinda stopped playing after they introduced the 'new' rules and Tau, because it got too expensive. It's great fun custom painting your own army and building your own battlefield though.---

I used to paint for players, but I didn't play myself. I'm not a huge fan of tactics and strategy (big surprise there, huh?) but there were a number of people who wanted their figs painted, but didn't like doing the painting or weren't good at it or whatever.
I was making a pretty nice bit of money doing it...$3/standard fig, then the price went up for larger things and whatnot. Close friend of mine at the time owned the game store we all hung out in, and so all the 'regulars' got discounts and stuff....every dime I made painting figs went right into buying new books and cards, so he'd give me the paint and supplies for free.
Thursday night was 'fig painting night' -- all the hardcore painters/collectors would come in and paint their figs (not just for 40K, but for D&D minis, etc.) and hang out and bullshit and whatever. Hell, he even stocked and sold brake fluid!---

Remembers What Arcades Are
The last I seen this played was over 5 yr.s ago with a band of guys I knew who if their guys lost, they would chuck them across the room to a wall. they would shatter in many peices & all I would hear after this odd sound was "That'll teach you to make ME lose a game!"
It's a odd sight when you see figures fly to a wall as you sit in another room.---

I think 2 were as they taled to their game peices as it was a life or death thing. I went to one game & I found out they are not the only ones who yell & go nuts if dice don't go right & Nargs (I think thats what they are called) end up eating their own party of Goblins.
But as long as the peices wheren't getting tossed at me, I had to laugh at it.
They even repainted some with some mark of shame till the peice made up for the mistakes in the past games.---

I never really got into the game, instead I got into the hobby of painting and terrain creation. I've been browsing around trying to find different minis for cheap so I could paint them too.
I like the errata that goes along with it, and Dawn of War, oh... Dark Angels FTW.---

Well if you ever out this way Spot you welcome to play with peeps I know. I promise they won't toss any minis at you.
Cheep minis are every where. E-bay is the best but even a local game store that needs to push old minis out. I have some old school nids that look killer now with the right paint job.---

Er.. lets see.
Undead, and eldar and imperium in Epic. I still ahve some of my titans, the old warlord shape with the curvy carapace. mmmmm.
But then they trashed eldar in the 3rd ed rules. so I quit 40k.
I kept on playing undead for a while though. My best unit? mounted wights, two special characters. one vampire count with the sorwd of destruction and vlad von carstein, chavved up with all his bling innit.
unit charges in, sword of destrution makes them lose all their items, vlad jumps their special character and ices him.
favourite miniature: Possibly Terminator Chaplain or assault marine for 40k. they just look so cool.
As for Fantasy, I'd have to say the new forest dragon style miniature looks really cool. though I did like the dwarven throne miniature as well.---
