i'm not a metalhead, though i do love black sabbath and occasionally listen to system of a down (embarrassing, i know). i do like the sound though; i just don't really listen to any bands. anything you'd recommend?

I'm no chick, but I do listen to metal a lot. None of th realy heavy intelligible screaming bullshit, but I like a lot. I listen to SOAD also, Sabbath and AC/DC are big time favorites of mine. I also like Motley Crue, In Flames, Rage Against the Machine, Rob Zombie, etc etc.

Hrm... I am more into Death Core than Heavy Metal. Nothing says "Lets shoot this Marine in the head with my .50 Barrett." than Job For A Cowboy!

I'm mainly a post-hardcore/metalcore fan (Alexisonfire, Underoath, As I Lay Dying, Caliban, etc.), but I'm a fan of allllll rock (punk, emo, death metal, hair metal.)

well, i'm more of a Power/Symphonic Metal kinda guy, but Heavy is cool too. Current faves include Blind Guardian and Hammerfall.

I'm quite a Melodic Death Metal fan, Insomnium, In Flames, Dark Tranquility and soilwork. I also like the classics, Megadeth, Iron Maiden etc.

And Goth Metal, can't beat a bit of Paradise Lost, Theatre of Tragedy (before they went all electronic), Tristania and Katatonia.

I guess I'm more industrial metal than anything... Static-X are my home-town favorites... and I cant resist when they come back here to play a gig.

Then there's the bands that played at Summer Slaughter this year... As Blood Runs Black, The Faceless, Ion Dissonence, Cattle Decapitation, and of course Necrophagist. And Marilyn Manson and Slayer together in concert was amazing as well... as was Ozzfest this year with everyone who played!

I listen to a good amount of metal as well. Sevendust, Metallica, Atreyu, Disturbed, Trvium, Megadeth, and some Dream Theater if they count.

I like to listen to power metal and older bands, Dragonforce, Ozzy, Twisted Sister, Poison, Quiet Riot, Black Sabbath. the list goes on

It depends on your definition of 'metal head' as to whether I come under the genre or not.

I have been, and still am, quite partial to Marduk (Apparently death metal? I don't believe that for a second, I can hear and understand the lyrics).

I'm a HUGE Sabbath fan, but that could be more attributed to Stoner Rock than Metal, Alice in Chains, I think is "Grunge Metal"(I just made that up)

I'm pissed no one's mentioned Dethklok yet... infidels... And I've listened to a LOT of System of a Down... But it's always cool to see chicks that are into metal. As a backup guitarist/roadie in a death metal band, it's nice to know our shows won't be TOTAL sausagefests, .

What? No one's mentioned Arch Enemy yet? Amazing band, I love their songs.
