So, when you joined EVE, you were given 4 options - Amarr, Minmatar, Caldari, and Gallente. With the game giving you some drawn out speech about how good each one was, which did you pick... and why?

(My answer and irrelevant ranting follows)

(If you couldn't tell by my icon) I picked Amarr, only because I think the background picture looked cool. Yay, religious radicals with a whole bunch of starting things... can't go wrong with that. After getting in game and seeing the ships, I decided to stick with my choice. Amarr has, sorry Gallente, the best looking ships... THEY'RE SYMMETRICAL FOR CRYING OUT [caps lock] loud!

[Rant time] Why in god's great name can't the Caldari and Gallente get it through their isk-covered shiny heads that perhaps some more symmetry might make your ships look a little, I don't know, more dangerous... And minmatar, are you trying to kill your pilots. You were safer when you were slaves than now, flying those things *points to Rapier* Those are solar panels with twigs holding them together!

But Amarr has everything. Smooth, golden, sexy ships. Lasers. Lots of lasers. Did I mention lasers? And some of the ships are the most beautiful in existence. Look at the Coercer. By far, that is the nicest looking ship in the game (only beating the Punisher because the Punisher appears to have buck teeth). The maller, in it's T1 form, is fairly ugly, but the T2 (forgetting name) is pretty nice as well. The apocalypse on the other hand. That is ugly. Who ripped the bottom off. Abbadon looks fairly decent though just sitting there. But when that thing fires all 8 lasers with red crystals... That's a sight to behold.
