The Cake Is A Lie
Ok so I have to do a project for my mass media class and its based on 90's music. I have to create 4 rides for an amusement park themed to the popular bands and genres for the 90’s.
For example a bumper cars place called “mosh pit” for grunge music like nirvana and soundgarden.
And im currently drawing a blank… any ideas people?
It can be based on anything, boy bands, grunge, industrial, electronica, Techno, rap, country, rock, punk, hip hop etc.. it just has to be from the 90’s…. please help me

The bumper car thing is a great idea because Grunge is the most important thing musically to happen in the 90's......next to:
Radiohead. This band changed the way we listen to music in the 90's. No one else accomplished what they did and they will live in Rock history for doing so. Just for your own knowledge, this is the most important band of your generation. You need reasons you say? Great. Radiohead did experimental things with sound and electronic music that other bands were afraid to touch. Their lyrics are VERY good, touching the ethereal with the great vocals of Thom Yorke.
Now to everything else.
Nine Inch Nails. This band did wonderful things with sound and electronic methods. But not as much as Radiohead, hence why they are more important. Trent Reznor could've brought this band to glory and beyond, but drugs got in the way of course.
MC Hammer. I thought of parachute pants. Make a great amusement ride, I think.
Red Hot Chili Peppers. I don't what you can do for a ride, but they are the most consistent band to come out of the decade. They are still making great music to this day and no other band from the era can claim that. Except Radiohead, but we already established why that is.
Marilyn Manson. I guess if you wanted a face painting booth or something. Other than that, there's really nothing you can do here.
Barenaked Ladies. These guys were HUGE in the 90's. As for a ride, nothing less of a burlesque show will do.
That's all I can think of as of right now. If you need more, lemme know and I'll actually be able to think of more.

And as far as britpop bands go radiohead was amazing and still love them to this day but it just seemed like oasis and other bands overshadowed them and kicked them out of the spot light... it kinda pisses me off

I agree witht the Oasis statement. Although they had some great songwriting and the guitar parts were really cool, Radiohead was just more important MUSICALLY. Therefore, I think they should be remembered more...and I think in the long run, they will.

General Rioter
the offspring, which didn't start but popularized punk in the 90's... then you could think about people like meatloaf, celine deon, whitney houston, mariah carey -- ya know, genres other than rock variations
