Tried A Real Guitar After Guitar Hero
I've only been in Eve for 2 months about, and I'm pretty much a noob, and I've never PvPed before, but this just looks down right sexy.
Factional Militias
Governments on every side of the war are eager to recruit pod pilots, and have set up factional militias as a means of bolstering their standing navies. Each faction has a corporation open to all
pilots with the appropriate factional standing minimums. CEOs and directors are also encouraged to bring their entire corporations under the aegis of the militias, to better fund and coordinate the war effort. Regardless of corporation membership, all militia members will share a chat channel and read-only mailing list.
Ranks
Each of the factions relies heavily upon the support of their militias, granting the privateers great political clout. Talented pilots dedicated to the cause can rise through the newly-created ranks, 10 for each faction, by increasing their standing with their chosen militia's corporation.
Factional Warfare Agents
In order to handle the influx of mercenary pilots, each of the four militia corporations have hired new agents-over 320 in all. These new agents are specifically tasked with coordinating the activities of freelance pod pilots and assigning them missions inside territory held by enemy militias.
Statistics
Due to the emphasis placed on the role of militias in the conflict, many stations now boast new Militia Offices. Pilots can track their own warfare victories and kill statistics, as well as those of their corporation and faction. Each pilot's map has also been upgraded to better accommodate the increased flow of logistics data. The galactic map can now be configured to show occupancy status of a system, as well as detecting the presence of hostile navy forces.
System Occupancy
In light of the formal declaration of war, CONCORD is now recognizing a new level of system control beyond sovereignty: occupancy. Factions gain occupancy of a system by winning conflicts in contested complexes. When a militia accumulates a certain number of victories for its faction, it is authorized to assault the star's System Control Bunker within 24 hours. Should the bunker fall to the attacking militia, a cease-fire is called in the system's Factional Warfare Complexes, and that faction gains occupancy of the solar system.
Combat Zones
As the fighting has spread throughout the inhabited regions of space, many of them have been deemed Combat Zones. Most of these contested regions are located in low-security space, but not all. Regardless of their security level, each of the systems within a Combat Zone contains a System Control Bunker near their stars. These bunkers coordinate all activity within their system's Factional Warfare Complexes.
Factional Warfare Complexes
As war rages across the stars of New Eden, a myriad of hidden deadspace complexes have taken on great strategic importance. Militia pilots that successfully scan for a complex and hold it uncontested for a set amount of time will claim it for their faction, and be rewarded with corporate standing-as well as more tangible benefits. But capturing these points of interest will not be easy, as they're guarded by rival naval forces. Speed and cunning are required to keep these important sites out of enemy hands, which is why microwarpdrives have been cleared for use in the complexes.
World Shaping
The confines of settled space cannot contain a war of this scale, causing the fighting to spill over into a new region. Named "Black Rise," this new region contains 49 new star systems and nearly 40 stations, many of which are already sworn to one faction or another.

Podding is also against the rules.
If you had all level 5 skills that wouldn't be an accurate test, they do however have "events" from time to time where they give everyone all level 5 skills and make every system 0.0.
Normally when they want a lot of people to login.
Nirach i'll be more than happy to lend a hand if you need it.

I'm shooting for a Maelstrom, base price ~145m, and then there's the outfitting etcetc.
Of course, between then and now I'm going to need something else, but. I'm just skill training at the moment.

Have you thought about a Hurricane? That's a very nice ship and a good stepping stone.

Faction fit? the devil does that even mean?
I've been looking for a ship between now and getting the maelstrom, since my Slasher is.. Small and not really good for anything but exploding.

There are various levels of fittings:
Tech I (Also includes named) - Generally cheap
Tech II
Faction
Deadspace
Faction comes from rare spawns and the mission loyality point store, the mods are generally a lot more expensive than Tech I and II. Deadspace is even rarer and more expensive.
People can scan your ship to see what is fitted to it, if you have a lot of expensive mods, they will generally try to gank you with some friends.
They do this in basic fitted battleships with insurance they lose very little ish and if your exspensive mods drop plenty to gain.
Generally this happens in groups of 5 - 10 since they have to kill you before CONCORD come and get them, they then use an alt to take the loot.
If you don't want to splash out on a battlecruiser try a Rupture that is a very nice cruiser.

I actually need to learn the Cruiser skills as part of the groundwork for flying a Maelstrom, so I'll check out the Rupture when I get a second.
I think I'll be sticking to Tech 1 for a while yet :B

You were looking at 500m for a Tech II cruiser, they tend to sell for 70m - 100m now depending on what it is.
Things like a Damage control II would set you back 200m IF you could find one they sell for about 1,5m now.
What are you planning to do in Eve?

I can't decide on the best way to do it. I mean, sometimes I can make more in a night of mining than anything else, but then sometimes some NPC's turn up and after some changes to the ship and me looting the remains, I can make way more than a couple of days mining.

Looting takes to long, generally you can complete 1 or 2 more missions in that time, which also give agent pay out and loyality points, not to mention standing which will give you better agents faster.
Or try to find someone running level 4 missions and loot there's your welcome to loot mine next time I do some. But that all depends if i'm still at war.

Two ways to check for agents.
Open your character sheet, standings, look at the information for a corp then agents.
Open your map, stars then my agents (Going from memory that information might be a bit off). Agents are displayed as green dots.
