Ok so I have two monitors on my XP Pro box. Main 1st (main) one is a CRT, which I like.

The 2nd is a widescreen LCD.

One in a while when playing a game, I would like to play it on the widescreen as opposed to the CRT.

Therefore, is there a way to get DirectX to use the secondary monitor as opposed to defaulting to the primary?

I go where I please, and I please where I go

    Hmm... nVidia or ATi?

If ATi is the flavor of choice, I'd check out hydravision. It might even work for nVidia cards as well.

Hydravision is more gimmick than program, sadly.

The other thought is Ultramon, I used to use it to manage my displays when I had 3 plugged in. Very nice little program, and it might be able to help, I know it has some "move to monitor #" commands in it.

I'd have thought there would be an option in the nVidia drivers to determine which one was the primary monitor for 3d applications, though.

Yeah it looks like a little POS app they threw together to sweeten their pot.

I have been running Ultramon for years, but it doesn't have any specific Dx features.

They may have, but I have not been able to find any in the nvidia control panel.

The only surefire way I can think of is switch the primary to the LCD rather than the CRT, but that's not really a fix. However, I don't know how to drive Forceware :B

The only way I know of is to tell Windows what your main monitor is (ie: shifting your taskbar over). Games will then run in the one you assigned as the primary.

You mean that you want a game to stretch across two monitors?

Well I am an nvidia boy, so I don't know about ATI. But, in the nvidia control panel they have a dual-monitor setup wizard which lets you choose how you want it to work and sets it all up for you.

I wouldn't be surprised if the ATI software has something like that.
