Shadowrun Blows. Cyberpunk2020 ftw!

Ive played shadow run. Ive played cyberpunk2020.
Cyberpunk is just flat out -better-. The combat is more realistic, the cyberware is ultra cool and much better handled with in my opinion much better side effects.
The world it protrays is infinitely darker, probably because there's no magic, or dragons running around.
Plus, I loved playing net runner the card game. and really dig the idea that the net was its own world that overlaid the real one.
Its a genius game. i just wish it was as popular as shadow run who frankly and again in my opinion was more widely received because fasa had more money off the back of battletech (which was in itself awesome and NOW i have to go post on another thread about how awesome mechwarrior is. bugger.

I've played CP 2020 and I'm a Shadowrun GM, and what I can tell you is this: Completely different games, mate. Shadowrun is a cyberpunk setting with fantasy elements; dragons, magic, elves, etc. CP 2020 approaches the theme in a much more sci-fi-novel way: humans only, world is dying, corporations and combat realism.
I've enjoyed both games, but the only reason I prefer Shadowrun over CP 2020 is exactly the presence of those fantasy elements; they add so much room to interpretation and unique stories that it makes it all way more enjoyable, for me, to game.
Not to say that CP 2020 is a bad game; I still think its rules own Shadowrun's. But Shadowrun's scenario, dude, is much cooler, imo.
