Casts Magic Missile
I have always wanted to try a RTS but i really hate to micro manage, and thats kinda needed I know. Can anyone suggest one, may one with good AI so i can manage less and stick to broad strategies.

As for DoW? Pretty fun, though some limitations to it. Not sure if it'll run on your card though - can you find out exactly what it is from System Manager?

Starcraft 2 is under production. It might still be a few years in coming, so you'll have upgraded by then.
I played a little starcraft a few months ago. I borrowed the CD from a friend. I wanna borrow that CD again if that means anything to you. Sure there's a LITTLE economics involved, but it's only 2 resources. It's similar to Warcraft III for that matter. However, I don't think micromanaging is as necessary in starcraft. I know what you mean by not liking to mm.. I fail at it too. I've been playing Rise of Legends and I've been trying to get better at it..
best of luck!

I agree with the suggestion of WiC - It's got no 'dirt farming' element to it at all. You still have point limits, but that's mainly for the sake of balancing and stopping people using silly numbers of units.
Keep your eyes peeled for the average gamers.
Nothing's broken, it's just functioning differently.

one detail I really thought was cool was the fact that the units automatically group into rank and file, so when you send a wave of troops, they charge awesomely!

One downside is that it's technically an RTT.
The Germans sometimes go on holidays to France. They call these trips blitzkrieg.

I'd also probably say Command & Conquer: Red Alert, just because I spent a lot of time playing that, and am still not sick of it -shrugs-

On the note of Micro-ing, they're not too bad, Generals has 2 types of resources, Supply Depots, and other Army-Specific resources [GLA have Black Markets, China have Hackers, and US have Supply Drop], while the Tiberium series have, well, Tiberium to mine, the green being more common, while the blue being more profitable. The Red Alert series follows suit with Minerals instead. Gold being common, Coloured [sapphire, emerald, ruby - they're all mixed in] being profitable.
You'll definitely be able to play Red Alert 2 and downwards, Generals, maybe not, but its got a few years on it so more than likely.
Try looking for the Command & Conquer: The First Decade. It's dirt cheap, and comes with the entire series up until Generals. It also includes all expansions, and they're all fully updated. Alongside this it comes with a nice Extras DVD, which has interviews and the like.
But World in Conflict, Dawn of War, and Company of Heroes are good bets too [although fairly recent, so try 'em after you upgrade
