The problem inherent with predictions is that they can go one of two ways - become true, OR, yield false. Fifty-fifty chance either way, it's not really any kind of solid science behind it sadly.

I just think it is weird that multiple cultures have them same time as the end. like the aztek and some ancient Chinese dude. they all se the world ending at the same time. i find that a bit odd since there is no way they could have communicated but yet they came up with the same time.

I'm not a great fan of these mystic psychic 'predictions' written by some guy that has a bone through his eye lid or something. Their God told them that, but then, Gods tell people (Or so they claim) to kill other people for not believing in the right God the right way. To me, that reduces their credability to somewhere around the level of Gordon Brown.

If it happens, it happens. Generally there's little we can do to stop the inevitable. Even with the LHC, it was a tiny chance of global disaster weighed up against an amazingly increased understanding of the universe.
