My friend recommended I get The Orange Box for PS3, giving it great reviews and claiming 5 games for $50. I'm wondering if this is all it's cracked up to be or just him overhyping everything again.

As much as I dislike the games in the Orange Box - It is absolutely worth it. I mean, come on, it's what, five games for the same price and most companies release one game.

You could honestly make a worse decision than to buy it.

    The worst part of it for me is Half Life. I loved the first one, but the second and the subsequent 'episodes' just feel like the first game in a slightly different location.. I seem to be alone with that though. However, Portal is probably going to entertain you (It seems to have done everyone else in the world :B), and TF2 seems to be the second most popular thing since God, so. That should be at least entertaining :B

      Portal is awesome, but as someone already said, if you have the chance, get it for PC. As for HL2, I enjoyed it, but maybe not as much as everyone else. TF2 is good, and i would say great if I had gotten my mic set up correctly.

        Oh, absolutely, I'd always recommend things for PC over consoles, but not everyone has a rig substantial enough to run it with all the eye-candy on, or enough to buy the PC version over the console version.

        I don't think you'd go far wrong with it on PS3, to be honest. I've seen (Not played) it on Ps3 at a friends house, and it's not bad. A friend picked up the Ps3 version after playing the PC version with no unusual issues - So it can't be too bad a port.

To tell you the truth, I really wouldn't get it for the PS3, but if you don't have anything else, I will recommend it then.
It is still worth it for PS3, if it's the only option though.

tbh I really don't like the ps3 version of the orange box. I played half life 2 episode one on pc I loved it and it kicked ass the controls for the ps3 isn't what they should be. So I would REALLY recommend you to play it on pc even if your pc is only able to run it at 25 frames per second.
