I was thinking, wouldn't it be cool if there were a way to create some sort of toolbar to interact with NR even on other sites? Maybe it could notify you of messages/notes and announcements. maybe you could even send messages to users from it?

I don't know jack about coding, so I may be asking the impossible, but ti is a thought. and if it has already been mentioned and I missed it, I apologize.

    Hmm, I really hate these. They're mostly used for advertising anyway, I've never used a helpful one.

    I'd like to stretch the definition of toolbar though, on dA there's a stylish script that adds a row of buttons above the posting box, basically acting like a WYSIWYG editor for all the posting codes and HTML. Best. Extension. Ever. Now if someone could port it over...

    I was thinking of something along the lines of the message center like deviantART users can install to Firefox..BlueSpeed9 made it, I believe. It's rather nifty and out of the way down on the right hand bottom of the browser.

    I started trying to make one, but I got frustrated and put it aside. >:

    hmm.. I think a formatting toolbar for comments could be done; Currently, formatting can be done using either BBcode or HTML.

    Like Sangue said, something like bluespeed9's deviantMESSAGE extension for Firefox would be pretty sweet. I'd been thinking that would be something nice to have for here.

    A browser toolbar is most likely not something we are going to persue, however I am sure someone could build on eventually.

    We do however have plans for some other solutions to the reasons you gave as to why you want one. ;P
