Hears The Tetris Theme During Nightmares

I'm serious. We have all these magazines sporting cover stories about celebrities and how their relationships are going to the orcs (< lame, I know), but who really cares? It's common knowledge that celebs have affairs, do drugs and rarely can keep a steady relationship. Why can't we have our game magazines at the front counter for easy access once in a while, huh? It just gets kinda annoying when one has to walk all the way to isle 57 1/2 to get the latest issue of EGM or Game Informer, whereas the never touched gossip mags are within reach at the checkout counter.

Yeah, I don't get it either. Even the girls I hang out with refer to them as "trash mags", so I don't really understand why they read it.

It's a bit iffy for me. If there's a snippet on a cover of a magazine about a musician (and preferably their music) I really like, I might flip through it while waiting in the checkout line and see what's up. Other than hearing about how so-and-so died, I don't really care.

Yeah, I tire of that kind of crap too. And plenty of people pick up those stupid magazines at the checkout, too, and I know cause I have to bag them. I can't remember if I've ever actually seen someone buy a gaming magazine, or at least something worthwhile, like National Geographic or Reader's Digest. The only thing I can think is that the people who read those magazines have a subscription, and therefore don't need to purchase them at the store.
I really don't get why people give a crap about the "celebrities" that are written about in every magazine. You're really not hearing anything new, its all the same crap about the same people doing the same stupid things. People are weird. >_>

I think you're right about the fact that people who would read something like national geographic or readers digest typically get a subscription to it. I occasionally buy a science magazine but they're just so expensive, even to subscribe to. The 'trashy' magazines are the only inexpensive ones I think :(

    I love the celebrity culture.

It gives us a distinct line between the mindless denzians who're likely to become zombies, and those of us smart enough not to get our asses bitten by stupidity.

I never understood why their lives are any more interesting than the person next door. They have a bigger house and some more cars, maybe, but they're still people. They still do everything we do - They're not special.

Some of the stores have the game magazines behind the counter, too, so you actually have to go and ASK for them. Now THAT's annoying

Back to celebrities. I have no idea who current celebrities even ARE. I don't watch TV, don't listen to radio, I usually come across movies and music on the internet. I honestly couldn't care less about their lives, I have my own and it's built around keeping track of when the games I'm looking forward to are going to come out

So I have no idea who reads those magazines and I'm really wondering why does there have to be like 30 thousand of them when they're basically all telling the same thing in different words

I have so little interest in celebrities that the closest I get to thinking about them on a monthly basis is seeing those magazines here and there.

I have flicked through them in the past, and if I'm lucky I might recognise one or two (because they are actors). I've lived with people who can name most of them. :ugh:

...those people are kidna hard to live with.

I can't even count how many times I've had conversation like this:
Them: "Hey, you know this movie?"
      Me: "I dunno, maybe?"
Them: "Sure you do! Actor/actress plays in it"
Me: "I don't fucking know them, what's the STORY about?"
      Them: "Well..."

      So annoying =_=;
