Never Played Half-Life
I initially started playing both LEGO Star Wars games on my old-as-hell PS2 in January. When I got home in May, I picked up a PS2 slim shortly thereafter.
At first, everything was fine. Then randomly, rarely, it wouldn't find my memory card. Usually restarting the PS2 fixed it. After a while, I sometimes had to restart the thing 10 times to get it to see the card.
When I got home last week, I decided to play Dark Cloud instead. I haven't had a single problem with the memory card not being found, even though I've turned the machine on and off many, many times. Yesterday or so, I decided I wanted to play some more LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game. First try or two, it didn't find the card. Then it worked - but it couldn't find my saved game, so I started a new one.
I went to play again today and it can't find the memory card, even after several restarts. The game is still on the card, at least for the time being. I checked the disc for scratches and there's nothing that should affect the game.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on with it? Why does it only seem to do it with the LEGO Star Wars games? I really don't want to need to take both PS2's back to school with me... the point of the slim was that it's lighter, smaller and easier to take back and forth across the country.

I attempted to play using my old PS2 and LEGO Star Wars will not see the memory card. The PS2 itself does - I can check in the browser thingy that it's there before the game loads.
I want to play these games without having to keep the box on until I'm done or play the beginning over and over and over again because I can't save. I don't know what to do?
