But I'm ranting again [see post about my Abaddon], you can dramatically speed up travel times by NOT using autopilot. Especially in bigger, slow ships. Granted, if you're like me and sit for 5 minutes at every gate 'cuz you aren't paying attention, then, well, autopilot can be faster. But in general, it's slower.
I'm surprised that the skill system didn't get you. It's massive, and can be confusing. On the plus side, there's practically a skill for everything that you could possibly need.

Courier missions are just that - take item from point a to point b, whilst traveling through points c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k,l,m,n... zzy, zzx... and so on. Typically, it's only 1 - 4 jumps, but they can be longer.

My record is 8 minutes for a level 4, Rogue Drone Harrasment, with my average time being about 20 minutes, longer missions like World's Collide and Angel Extra taking maybe 40 minutes
I'm currently doing adminstration missions which are 50% / 50% courier the courier ones really get on my nerves but unfortunatley that is the best type of agent avaiable if you want to do lvl 4 R&D.

After a bit, I got it down to an hour and a half.
In my Apoc, I could probably do the whole thing in 20 minutes to half an hour if I didn't have to travel to acceleration gates.

Thanks to the new range bonus the Apoc is better than the Abaddon these days, you can do 700DPS from about 75km in it.

Especially when we killed a neutral Navy Issue Caracal in 0.0 and a big blue gang jumped in after it claiming it was with them and then demanded we refund the isk.
I can't recall an Amarr nerf, unless you mean the HP buff (I think that is older than one year) which did hurt since it made fights longer which means you need more cap.
I remember the NOS nerf was about 1 year ago, personally I think that helped Amarr and I like the new Curse, granted the Pilgrim is useless now.
And didn't we get the Khanid changes about one year ago? I also love these but I can see it as a nerf if you don't want missile boats.

I used Autopilot because I simply had no idea where I was going, and have no sense of direction - No good when you're trying to navigate the voids of space
I actually really liked the skill system. I much prefer being able to train anything I have the pre-requisits for, rather than having to go out and smudge some respawning enemies into the map before I can do any skill progression.
